Men are asking this question(mostly to other men) for years. And looks like none of them got any answer yet.
I will tell you and it is not very difficult.
Women want different things from different people , at different times. See, it goes like this. A girl will always be a girl to her parents, hence this particular question does not arise. When a girl gets married and enters womanhood, then the argument starts.
Many relations have different opinions here. Some in-laws, her maid(Kamwali is very important relation for a woman, particularly in India), her boss, her colleagues, her kid's teacher and few more. But the main culprit(!!) here, who is asking this question again & again, is "The Husband".
Her life revolves around her husband, forever. She changes so much for him and yet he asks ," oh god, what do u want exactly?" Ok Sir, here is list and she wants one(or more) of that::
1>love, and when I say love , I mean some gesture or a word of love, "everyday".
2>Understanding, she is already doing lots of things simultaneously (be in India or America). If you try to grasp her pressure a bit and try to adjust your own demands accordingly, then that will be called as "Understanding"
3>appreciation, few words like "wow" or "good job", will go a long way.
4>gifts, and no I am not telling to spend money but small things, surprise her with a hot cup of tea or take kids to class one day or help her to put groceries away. These are "big" gifts in todays world.
5>acceptance, wife from "n" years of marriage(n= 1......100) wants acceptance. She just wants to know that she is your partner. Its ok to express that in words. Its ok to say "My life is so unreal when you are not around" & believe me these are not "filmy" words.
See, its not very difficult. Small things to do, but it has to be a consistent operation. Just sitting next to her and holding her hand(for no other intention) will make her so happy. Some day just say "You are looking so beautiful"(again no other intention), and she will smile so beautifully. Go out for a walk with her, without mobile(no calls, no SMS, no WhatsApp), she will remember that walk forever.
Maintaining any relationship is not a very easy task. But this particular relation is lifelong(or for seven lives), and she is already doing a lot work towards it, So put some more efforts.
